Dr. Mari Delaney, Owner

Our Fearless Leader, Dr. Mari Delaney knew she wanted to be a veterinarian by the age of 11. She is a graduate of the Cornell College of Agriculture and Life Sciences with honors in 1998. She went on to matriculate from the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. She began practicing veterinary medicine and surgery in Elmira in 1995. She started Compassionate Compassion Care in 2001 and has had the great honor of caring for her patients with the help of her amazing staff ever since. She is grateful for every day and just wants to make the world a better place one patient at a time.

Our fantastic support staff are multi-talented humans who fall in love with each pet they meet. Each one is a wonderful asset to CCC, and their hard work is so appreciated. They are a great team, and they take amazing care of our pet parents and their furbabies alike.

Geraldine, Veterinary Assistant

Geraldine has been with Dr. Delaney for 19 years and counting. She can do it all but her main interests and skills lie in assisting the doctor with patients, surgery technician, performing dental cleanings, running lab work, etc. Outside of CCC she enjoys getting outdoors and gardening, hiking, and relaxing at home with her furbabies. She currently has 1 dog, 4 cats, and a variety of fish.

Tanya, Office Manager

Tanya started with the practice by volunteering over summers in high school in 2006. She worked her way up from Housecall Helper to Veterinary Assistant to Supervisor and now Office Manager. There’s not much that she isn’t able to do around here! She lives in Elmira with her husband and new baby, born March 2022, along with 4 cats and 2 dogs. She does pet sitting and in home cat/dog nail trims outside of work in addition to catching and vetting strays around her house. What she loves most about her job is bonding with the patients and educating clients.

Ashley, Supervisor

Ashley can do it all but her current title is Supervisor. She has worked her way up to this position since 2014. She always has a smile on her face and is ready to face the day with a Dunkin latte in her hand! Her specialties are assisting the doctor, surgery technician, lab work, and customer service. She is an equestrian who loves caring for her 20 chickens, 5 cats, 4 horses, 3 dogs, 2 snakes, 1 husband, and 1 little girl. You can call her a frequent foster failure, often taking in those with special needs.

Katie, Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant

Katie came to us in 2021. She excels in her job and is very detail oriented and eager to learn. She was raised in Pine City where her love for animals has grown since she was a little girl. She currently has 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a hamster. She is a Corning Community College graduate and enjoys spending time with her furbabies, crafting, and most of all taking her son to activities like Ninja Warrior on the weekends.

Eileen, Receptionist/Technician Assistant

Eileen started October 2022. She has had a long work career ranging from broadcast television, marketing, sales and retail management, volunteer work, and now veterinary care. Through it all she has been committed to helping animals including serving on the Board of the Chemung Co SPCA and volunteering for the spay/neuter clinics and helping at the Elmira shelter. She has taken seminars at Cornell in cat behavior and enjoys showing her rescue kitties in cat shows throughout NYS. She has 5 felines, 2 of which are recognized champions!

Sidney, (soon to be) Veterinary Technician

(bio coming soon)

Gary Glen, Office Mascot

Gary was captured in West Elmira in January 2023 at 8 weeks old by Tanya. He quickly became the new official Office Mascot after his predecessor passed on and left him this position. He is quickly taking after the late Hamish James by recklessly walking across keyboards, spilling drinks, and “clearing the room”. 😊 This position at CCC is tough to fill which is why not all of our office kitties are qualified for it.

Bunchkin, Support Staff Kitty #1

Bunchie came to us in 2011 when one of our employee’s moms found her injured in the street. Her front leg was broken beyond repair and needed to be amputated. She was feral and unable to be adopted at the time, so she stayed with CCC. She became BFF’s with Hamish but otherwise has remained elusive, only coming out when the clinic is completely empty. She lives in a special kitty cave Dr. Delaney created for her and promptly hisses at you whenever you invade her space. Fortunately, she is all bark and no bite. 😊

Regina George, Support Staff Kitty #2

Regina is mostly bite. 😊 She was “dumped” on us in 2018, brought in as a stray to be fixed and rehomed but that never happened. It was obvious that her behaviors made a new home difficult to find. She would need a special owner who accepted her capricious personality. She then developed diabetes and we decided CCC was going to be the best home for her. Being dubbed after a movie character, she lives up to her name. She will lick your hand then attack you and comes with a bright red warning label. Despite her flaws, we accept her for who she is.

pt her for who she is.
